Susan J. Matthew
Resolution with dignity, efficiency and practicality
Practice Details
I've been a practicing divorce attorney for over thirty years, and a family mediator for over twenty years. I bring an informed and conciliatory ear to mediation. My hope is to allow the parties the gift of transformation through the mediation process - the simple and repeated process of question, answer, thinking, reflecting, disclosing and sharing thoughts, ideas, problems, numbers, and solutions. They say that a problem halved is a problem solved; in mediation, a problem heard is a problem solved. My job is to hear the problem, and then guide the parties to discover their own unique solution.
In addition to my practice as a mediator and divorce attorney, I also regularly participate in training mediators. I particularly enjoy assisting new mediators in discovering and uncovering this new language.
