Practice Details
As a forensic psychologist, Dr. Gallagher has been working with children and families involved with Family Court in RI and MA since 1988. Over the last five years she updated her forensic skills completing the William James College Certificate in Child and Family Forensics. She has worked on child protective, termination of parental rights, adoption, child custody and juvenile justice cases. She has worked in residential treatment, day treatment, juvenile justice, private practice, public school and hospital settings. She is an Advanced Mediator and a Parenting Coordinator, helping couples, coparents and families reach mutually beneficial agreements that resolve conflict and help them regain control in the midst of divorce, elder care planning, special education meetings and family disputes. She also is an evaluator (GAL-like reports) with expertise in the areas of child development, education & special education, family systems, family development, intimate partner violence, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse, mental health, reunification, adoption and alternative family structures. She also provides court-involved therapy and consultation to therapists, evaluators, GALs, attorneys, child protective agencies, social service agencies, schools, and health care agencies.
