MCFM proudly announces its partnership with 2 national organizations —APFM (Academy of Professional Family Mediators) and ADFP (Association of Divorce Financial Planners) — to present a BLOCKBUSTER conference in Boston, November 7-9, 2019.

NOVEMBER 8 HAS BEEN DESIGNATED "MCFM DAY," when MCFM and mediation will be showcased and celebrated. MCFM Day is being held in lieu of the Family Mediation Institute this year, so don't miss it!

MCFM DAY KEYNOTE ADDRESS:
“What Makes People Tick: A Divorce Professional’s Guide to Our Multiple Parts”

Speaker:  David A. Hoffman

ABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Keynote Speaker David HoffmanDavid A. Hoffman is a mediator, arbitrator, and Collaborative Law attorney at Boston Law Collaborative, LLC and also the John H. Watson, Jr. Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, where he teaches three courses: Mediation; Legal Profession: Collaborative Law; and Diversity and Dispute Resolution.

David previously worked for Hill & Barlow, a Boston law firm, where he mixed billable work, including a budding mediation and arbitration practice, with pro bono work. In 2002, David left Hill & Barlow to set up his own tiny firm, Boston Law Collaborative, LLC, which is devoted to dispute resolution.

Along the way, David has served as chair of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution and published three books (including “Bringing Peace into the Room,” with co-editor Daniel Bowling) and numerous articles on law and dispute resolution. He has won several awards for his dispute resolution work. He has also given a TEDx talk about lawyers as peacemakers. MCFM is proud to claim David as a longtime member and supporter. David is also the 2011 recipient of MCFM's John Adams Fiske Award for Excellence in Mediation.

David has recently been providing trainings on using the Internal Family Systems model in mediation, law practice, and other professional work, and this model will be the subject of his presentation.
